• Open new Writer document

• Insert dummy text with dt+F3 or bt+F3 in german version to fill the page with some text

• Highlight with mouse one sentence or some words

• Menu Insert - Fields - Other...

• Select tab page Functions and the TRUE into the Condition field.
  Note: The selected text before should be already set into the Hidden text field.

• Click Insert button

• Click Close button
  

• Set cursor to any place at the document
  

• Menu Insert - Fields - Other...

• Select tab page Functions and slect Placeholder at Type area

• Select Text at Format area and click Insert button

• Type Text in Placeholder field to differ between the other placeholders
  Note: The Reference field can be filled as a hint like"Click to overwrite" or "Click to insert a table" for the table placeholder.
  

• Place cursor to another place at the document
  Note: The Insert field dialog is not modal and can stay open

• Insert also the other placeholders Table, Frame, Graphic and Object in different places at the document and close the dialog.

• Menu Tools - Options... - OpenOffice.org Writer - Print

  • CheckBoxes for Hidden text and Text placeholder shold be unchecked by default

• Enable both check boxes and click Cancel button

• Open Optios dialog again to see that both check boxes are still unchecked

• Open Optios dialog again and enable Hidden Text and Text Placeholder

• Close Options dialog with the x-closer on top right.

• Open Optios dialog again to see that both check boxes are still unchecked

• Close Options dialog with ok

• Menu File - Print - Options...

• Enable HiddenText and close Options dialog with OK

• Select a postscript printer at the print dialog and enable the check box for Print to file

• Click OK button -> A save as dialog will appear for the postscript file

• Give a name with the ps extension and click to Save button
  NOTE: while printing, the hidden text will be visible and will be hidden again when the print is completed.

• Open the postscript file to see if the hidden text is also printed

• Go back to the document and click to menu File - Print

• Select a postscript printer at the print dialog and enable the check box for Print to file

• Click OK button -> A save as dialog will appear for the postscript file

• Give a name with the ps extension and click to Save button

• This time, the hidden text should be still not visible

• After the print is complete open the postscript file to see that the hidden text is not printed.

NOTE: The options at the print dialog are not persistent

• Menu File - Print - Options...

• Enable Text placeholder and close Options dialog with OK

• Select a postscript printer at the print dialog and enable the check box for Print to file

• Click OK button -> Save as dialog will appear for the postscript file

• Give a name with the ps extension and click to Save button
  NOTE: while printing, the text placeholder will disappear and appear again when the print is completed.

• Open the postscript file to see if the text placeholders are not printed

• Go back to the document and click to menu File - Print

• Select a postscript printer at the print dialog and enable the check box for Print to file

• Click OK button -> A save as dialog will appear for the postscript file

• Give a name with the ps extension and click to Save button

• This time, the text placeholder should be still visible

• After complete, open the postscript file to see that the text placeholders are also printed.

NOTE: The options at the print dialog are not persistent

• Menu Tools - Options... - OpenOffice.org Writer - Print

  • CheckBoxes for Hidden text and Text placeholder shold be unchecked by default

• Enable both check boxes and click OK button

• Open Optios dialog again to see that both check boxes are still enabled

• Close Options dialog with ok

• Menu File - Print - Options
• CheckBoxes for Hidden text and Text placeholder should be enabled
• Repeat the test like described in the test case "Practice Hidden text" and "Practice Placeholder"
  This time you have to disable both check boxes each time for a new document.
